2020 African Union summit (fully funded) Thesis presentation in 180 Seconds

The African union summit gladly Calls for applications for a Fully funded paper presentation “My Thesis in 180 seconds” competition, for students still in school to present their thesis in 3 minutes at the 33rd Conference of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU2019) from July 3 to 7 2019.

Brief overview of the Award: Niger as a country  is hosting the 33rd Conference of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU2019) from the 3rd to 7th day of  July 2019. Various scientific and cultural side events have been planned for on this occasion. These events, among numerous other objectives, aim at showcasing and celebrating  Innovations for Development with Science at the heart of the agenda to strengthen African integration through Science, Research, and Development.

The largest among the side events of the AU2019 meeting is the “Innovation for Development” Hub. The committee in charge of organizing the Science-related events is inviting African PhD students in second year and beyond to submit applications for a paper competition tagged “My Thesis in 180 seconds” competition, which will take place from July 8 to 10, 2019 in Niamey, the Capital city of Niger which of course is going to be for that week, Capital city of Africa. Each participant will have three minutes to present his or her research, in plain language, to a non-specialist audience and a multidisciplinary jury.

Eligibility for application, participation and winning: Only candidates who are still in school (have not yet defended their thesis) by the date of the competition are eligible.
